About Me

I have four children (two home, two flown) and am married to Peter, an architect. We live in rural chaos/bliss with our two children together, chickens and whippet. Home is a creative place bulging at the seams. Our son is a metal/wood worker, our daughter likes to practice her ballet/gymnastics around the house and garden. Peter plays his drums in limited space and spare time.

In my downtime, I like to unwind walking the dog, or gardening. In winter I like nothing better than curling up by the fire with my knitting or crochet (or writing a script in a quiet corner of the house). We all like performing and making things.

I had my oldest child when I was just 20. I have been married, a single mother and married again.

I spent a year at the Guildford School of Music and Drama. It was a tough year of juggling studies and a young family and taught me a lot about myself. Love at first sight happened when I met Peter (I was coming out of a divorce). We married shortly after and have been together for 25 years. I would be lying if I said life was always rosy, but we support one another while we juggle busy working lives and this makes us stronger.

I have worked in a variety of industries over the years to fit in with raising a family, including a decade with my brother in the antiques industry. When my youngest child was old enough, I went to work for our local medical practice as a secretary, where I stayed part-time for nearly 8 years. I have made time to help my elderly parents. I set up a workshop teaching knitting/crochet and produced a range of baby knitwear.

I decided to train as a celebrant in late 2018, thinking it would challenge me and make use of my experience. A year on, my business continues to grow and I feel so fortunate to have found my niche.

How It Works

As a celebrant I will spend time with you and observe who you are – both individually and as a couple. This involves exploring the practices, traditions and religions that are important to you before creating a bespoke ceremony that will reflect both your personalities and love for each other.

Whatever your faith, belief systems or family traditions are, we will work together to create a truly memorable celebration of your lives together. This is your special day and I will do my utmost to fulfil your aspirations.

I believe that an individually crafted ceremony is fundamental for every marriage. As individual as the two people making the commitment, the ceremony should reflect all the differences, personalities, religious beliefs and traditions that they hold dear.

I also believe that every wedding should be inspirational and magical.

After all, this day is the one you will reflect on countless times throughout your lives together and will act as the anchor for your love and commitment to each other.

The ceremony will be pivotal in enabling you to grow as a unit, gain strength and support from each other and share the very real and wonderful thing that marriage is.

Moving Forwards

I look forward to hearing from you, whether it is to discuss what you already have in mind or take you through the many options available to making your day spectacular.

A wedding is not just a day – it is the start of a whole new life together and something very worth getting right.
